Mode of use
Turn on the appliance by pressing the ON/ button/OFF. All notification symbols appear briefly and the device emits an acoustic signal, followed by the last measured temperature value.
If the temperature is less than 32 °C (90 °F), the “Lo” message will appear on the LCD display, if the temperature is higher than 42,9 °C (109,9 °F), the “Hi” message will appear.
The thermometer is now ready for use.
You have the possibility to measure body temperature both in Celsius degrees and in Fahrenheit degrees. Proceed as follows:
1. The device must be switched off.
2. Press the ON/ button for about 4 seconds/OFF to change the measuring unit.
3. Its set measuring unit (°C or -%) appears on the top right display.
Place the tip with sensor under the tongue, under the armpit or anus:
- ORAL MISURATION: put the thermometer with the tip of the sensor under the tongue and close the mouth. When measuring breathe with the nose and avoid altering the detected values.
- RECENTAL MISURATION: the rectal measurement, considered annoying by many patients, instead gives precise results. For quick and reliable body temperature detection, carefully insert the sensor tip into the rectum for about 1 cm.
- MISURATION ON THE ACVO ASCELLARE: before measuring, clean the axilla. Put the thermometer with the tip of the sensor in the axle cable. Lower the arm and press it slightly against the body during measurement.
The thermometer starts measuring automatically. During the measurement, the symbol “°” always flashes. At full measurement the device emits the sound signal for about 10 seconds and the measured value appears on the display.
By extending the measuring time beyond the acoustic signal, even more accurate measurement values will be found.
If you use the thermometer by axle, wait for a minimum of 10 minutes as this measuring mode is the most imprecise.
If a temperature above 37.8 °C (100 °F) is measured, the device emits a fever warning signal (short beep).
The thermometer automatically switches off 10 minutes after measurement. To extend battery life, however, it is recommended to disable the thermometer after reading, pressing the ON/ button/OFF.
Cleaning and maintenance:
The thermometer is waterproof and therefore can be cleaned and disinfected easily. Determine the thermometer before and after each measurement with a cloth soaked in a delicate alcoholic solution. You can also immerse the thermometer in a special disinfectant solution.
Warnings
The thermometer should not be boiled.
The thermometer must be cleaned before and after each use with disinfectant.
Keep away from heat sources.
Keep away from the reach of children.
The thermometer is only suitable for measuring body temperature.
Protect the thermometer from falls and blows.
The thermometer goes wrong after about 15 seconds if it does not detect any temperature, or if the temperature is outside the measurement scale.
