ThermoDiary EAR

Auricular infrared thermometer

Description
The infrared ear thermometer measures infrared heat generated by the timpane and surrounding tissue to reflect the patient's body temperature.
User, to whom this product is intended: minimum 11 years of age (5 years of intensive reading experience), no maximum limit.
This thermometer converts the ear temperature into “equivalent oral” value (according to the clinical evaluation result to obtain the offset value).

Mode of use
It is recommended to measure 3 times in the same ear. If the 3 measurements are different, select the highest temperature.
Before measuring, stay in a stable environment for 5 minutes and avoid physical activity and baths for 30 minutes.
In healthy people the temperature varies: between the different parts of the body can vary between 0.2 and 1°C. The clinicalbias is between -0,5 and -0,7°C. The “limits of concordance” are 1,02. The “repetibility” is 0.19°C.

Turn on the appliance and detect readings
Press the “ON/MEM” button, the thermometer is ready for use when the icon stops flashing and hear two short acoustic signals. Measuring ear temperature: gently pull the ear back to straighten the ear canal and carefully place the probe inside the ear canal itself. Target to the timpane membrane to get a reading as accurate as possible. For children under two years of age, gently pull the ear back. For children over two years of age and adults, gently pull the ear upwards and backwards.
Hold the "MEASURE" button until you hear an acoustic signal. Remove the probe from the ear and read the temperature measurement on the display.
For subsequent measurements: after two short acoustic signals, the icon stops flashing and is ready for next measurement.

Connect the thermometer with your smartphone
Download the free app PIC HEALTH STATION from Google Play and AppStore. Launch the app PIC HEALTH STATION on your smartphone. The Bluetooth v. 4.0 version will start automatically. Make sure the thermometer is on. Look for the thermometer with PIC HEALTH STATION and connect it to your smartphone. During the coupling, only the smartphone to connect with the thermometer can activate PIC HEALTH STATION. In case of problems with mating, check that PIC HEALTH STATION is not running with another smartphone, or restart your own. Note that the thermometer only sends the temperature data when connected to the smartphone. Each temperature reading will be automatically transferred to the mobile device.

After measurement
The device automatically switches off when it remains inactive for more than 1 minute to extend the battery life.
Clean the probe after each use to ensure accurate reading and avoid cross contamination.
Remember to put the cap on the probe when it is not in use.

Functions
- Indication of fever: If the thermometer detects a body temperature ≥37,5°C (99,5°F), the "red" light signal will appear. At the same time, you will feel a long acoustic signal followed by three short acoustic signals to warn the user of potential fever; if the temperature WARNING: Red light - suggests constant monitoring of body temperature. Please consult your doctor if you have any questions about the health conditions of the monitored person.

- Memory: 25 measurements are available in total for body temperature. Once the device is turned on, press the “ON/MEM” button to display the stored temperatures. The data stored in the thermometer memory is not sent to the application.

- Switching °C/°F: in “Spent” mode, hold the “MEASURE” button, then press immediately and then leave the “ON/MEM” button. After 3 seconds, the “°C” icon will be switched to the “°F” icon. (To return to “°C” repeat the operation).

- Silent mode: by default, the sound signal is active. You can turn on/off the sound signal in silent mode. With the device on, hold the “ON/MEM” button for 3 seconds. The icon will flash on the LCD display. Release the “ON/MEM” button to activate the silent mode. From this moment you will not hear any acoustic signal. Repeat the operation to disable the silent mode.
NOTE: If you continue to press the “ON/MEM” button for 5 seconds once the silent icon appears, the device will turn off without setting the silent.

After measuring, use an ovate stick filled with alcohol (concentrated to 70%) to clean the lens (in the probe). Allow the probe to dry completely for at least one minute. Keep the appliance dry and away from liquids and direct sunlight.
Do not immerse the probe in any liquid.
Note: Please check that the appliance does not have any damage in case of fall. If you are not sure how to proceed to verify it, bring the complete appliance to the nearest dealer for any recalibration.

Warnings
Do not use this appliance in severe risk situations or security applications. In case of doubts or increased body temperature, consult a doctor.
The thermometer tends to compensate for ear temperature readings according to the temperature of the room. To get a reading as accurate as possible, the thermometer must remain in the room where it will be used, at stable ambient temperature, for at least 15 minutes before use. It is recommended that the person, which will be measured the temperature stays in the same room at least 5 minutes before reading. When measuring temperature, make sure that the patient and thermometer are not exposed to direct heat, sunlight or air conditioning.
Before reading, check that the ear canal is clean and accessible; do not clean the ear immediately before using the probe as the use of hot or cold water will affect reading.
Do not measure body temperature for at least thirty minutes after a physical effort, a bath or after a meal.
Make sure the probe is clean and undamaged.
This device contains batteries and small parts that could constitute a risk of suffocation if accidentally ingested by small children or pets. Keep such components in places not accessible from them.
If you hold the thermometer too long in your hand, the probe could read a higher ambient temperature. This could generate a lower body temperature measurement than usual.
Do not immerse the appliance in any liquid and do not expose it to direct moisture.
There are no age or gender limits for using this infrared thermometer.
Not AP/APG, therefore the product is not suitable for use in the presence of mixtures of flammable or explosive anesthetics, oxygen, nitrogen oxide.

Conservation
Store the device at an ambient temperature between -20°C and +50°C and in the presence of relative humidity (RH) of 85%.
