Description
Nasal ointment intended for the treatment of epistaxis. EPISTAS is a hydrophilic ointment in which microgranules of pectin and jelly are dispersed. Pectin is a polysaccharide substance of vegetable origin that behaves like a hydrophilic colloid. Jelly, a purified protein, also has great hydrophilic power. The two substances, due to their ability to absorb liquids, form a protective “film” that, in EPISTAS, acts with mechanical action to curb nasal bleeding, creating a barrier at the level of the fragile capillaries of the nasal mucosa.

Components
PEG 400, PEG 4000, gelatin, pectin, benzalconio chloride solution (50%).

Mode of use
Put a dose of ointment in the nostrils, possibly helping with a gauze, compressing the nose from the outside with the fingers.

Warnings
Don't swallow. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of accidental contact wash your eyes with plenty of water. Keep away from the reach of children. After use make sure that the spout is clean before closing the pipe, otherwise clean it with disinfectant solution. Personal use of the device is recommended. Do not use if hypersensitive or allergic to one of the components. If the product gives rise to awareness, stop treatment and consult your doctor. The use, especially if prolonged, of all products for topical use, can give rise to phenomena of sensitization. In this case, contact the doctor to establish suitable therapy.

Conservation
The expiry date refers to the product in intact and properly preserved packaging. Do not use the device after the expiry date indicated on the package. Close the pipe after use. Store at room temperature. Do not expose to heat sources. Do not disperse the container in the environment. Validity of whole packaging: 36 months.
