VICKS INALANCE

active ingredients

Each stick contains: 1,00 ml of medical liqueur, absorbed on a cellulose brush. ACTIVE PRINCIPLES: Menthol 415.4 mg, canphore 415.4 mg. For the full list of excipients see paragraph 6.1.

Essential oil of Siberian pine, salicylate methyl.

Therapeutic indications

In colds and congests of the nasal mucosa, frees the nose closed and promotes breathing.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to active ingredients or any of the excipients listed in paragraph 6.1. Children up to 30 months old. Children with a history of epilepsy or fever seizures.

Population

Vicks Inalante is contraindicated in children up to 30 months of age (see paragraph 4.3) and we do not recommend it in children under 6. Unscrew the cap and introduce the tip of the nasal stick in one nostril by closing the other with a finger and inhaling deeply. Repeat in each nostril several times a day. Do not exceed the recommended doses. The duration of treatment shall not exceed 3 days.

None.

Warnings

This product contains terpenic derivatives which, in excessive doses, can cause neurological disorders such as convulsions in infants and children. Vicks Inalante is contraindicated in children up to 30 months of age and we do not recommend the use in children under 6. Treatment should not be extended for more than 3 days for the risks associated with the accumulation of terpenic derivatives, such as canphora, cineol, niaouli, wild thyme, terpineol, terpineol, citral, menthol and essential oils of pine needles, eucalyptus and trementina (due to their lipophilic properties it is not known the speed of metabolism and disposal) in tissues and brains, especially neuropsychological disorders. A dose higher than the recommended dose should not be used to avoid greater risk of adverse reactions to the medicinal product and overdosage disorders (see paragraph 4.9) The product is flammable, it should not be approached to flames. Prolonged use may cause awareness. In this case or in the absence of therapeutic effect, suspend use and consult the Doctor. Use the product according to the instructions. External use.

Interactions

Vicks Inalante should not be used in conjunction with other products (medicinal or cosmetic) containing terpenic derivatives, regardless of the way of administration (oral, rectal, cutaneous, nasal or inhalation).

Effects

Generally they are not expected serious or serious side effects with this product. Very rarely have been reported cases of nasal pain. Due to the presence of camphor and menthol and in case of non-compliance with recommended doses, a risk of seizures in children and infants may arise. The use, especially if prolonged, of products for topical use, can determine phenomena of sensitization. In this case it is necessary to stop the treatment and establish suitable therapy. Reporting of suspicious adverse reactions The reporting of suspicious adverse reactions that occur after the authorization of the medicinal product is important, as it allows continuous monitoring of the benefit/risk ratio of the medicinal product. Healthcare professionals are required to report any suspected adverse reaction through the national reporting system reported on the website: www.agenziafarmaco.gov.it/it/responsabili of the Italian Pharmaco Agency.

Overdosing

No clinically significant overdose cases have been reported. In case of accidental oral intake or incorrect administration in infants and children, the risk of neurological disorders may arise. If necessary, administer appropriate symptomatic treatment in specialized care centers.

Pregnancy

There are or are limited numbers available data relating to the use of canphora and menthol in pregnant women. Vicks Inalante is not recommended during pregnancy and in women of fertile age who do not use contraceptive measures.

Food

There is insufficient information on the excretion of camphor and menthol in breast milk. Vicks Inalante should not be used during breastfeeding.
