Description
This macerate is one of those of the exudatory phagosis (Pol Henry). This gemmoderivate is useful in gout and chronic rheumatism, as well as acute joint rheumatism. The plant contains high concentrations of a glucoside (quercetin) which through hydrolysis produces substances such as pentoxyflavone, flavonoids, tannic acid, mannitis, cumarine, inositol, malic acid, ursolic acid. Its properties were already known by Hippocrates, Teofrasto and Dodonnes. The plant, in phytotherapy, is also used bark that would have an antipyretic and astringent action.
