As well as for each local anesthetic, any reactions and complications are more easily avoidable using the minimum effective dosages. Pay attention to the elderly and seriously ill patients. Do not use in case of injury of the mucosa condition in which you need to consult your doctor. Prolonged use of topical products may lead to awareness-raising, in which case it is necessary to stop treatment and, if necessary, to establish suitable therapy. After a short period of treatment, without results, appreciable or in case of suspected mycotic infection, consult your doctor.Interactions
The propanol extends the plasma half-life of lidocaine. The cimetidine can raise the plasma levels of lidocaine.Effects
Exclusively the extremely improper use of the product can give undesirable systemic effects. It is possible the appearance, even in rare cases, of allergic reactions. Allergic patients to anesthetics derived from paraminobenzoic acid (procaine, tetracaine, benzocaine, etc.) have crused reactivity against lidocaine.Overdosing
The symptoms of overdose are characterized by neuroeccitatory manifestations (tremors, convulsions followed by depression, respiratory failure and coma) and cardiovascular alterations with hypotension and bradycardia. Treatment is symptomatic. Any seizures may be controlled by short-acting barbituric or benzodiazepine administration. The undesirable effects reported above and the overdose symptoms attributable to lidocaine have never occurred with the correct use of VAGISIL, respecting therapeutic indications and posology.Preclinical studies conducted on the rat and rabbit, did not highlight risks to the fetus. However, since clinical data are not available in pregnant women, the use of the product is to be considered contraindicated in that situation.
