Description
Interactive absorbent medication consisting of non-woven gelling fibres of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). Exufiber is indicated for the management of a wide range of moderately to very exudatory wounds such as:
-ulcere of the lower limbs
-pressure ulcer
-partial thickness burns
-surgical wounds
-donor sites
-tumor/neoplastic injuries.
Exufiber is a hydrophilic medication that absorbs and retains exudated from moderate to very abundant. In contact with the fluids the fibers of Exufiber interact with the exudates and freeze immediately, facilitating the natural healing of the injury in the humid environment and removal during the change of dressing.
Benefits: soft and conformable, it is easy to apply; can be cut to fit the injury; high absorbent capacity, for moderate and very abundant exudates, even under compression; effectively retains exudates (Hysterlock* technology), maintaining the wet environment of the wound; high compactness, which allows removal in one piece; absorbs and detains exudated, bacteria and blood; can remain in place during radiotherapy sessions and diagnostics for images; exercises a protease modulation activity, balancing the inflammatory response.
*Technology Hydrolock: patented technology, exclusively present in Exufiber, which actively interacts with exudates and, thanks to the special interweaving of polyvinyl alcohol fibres (PVA). It confers high resistance and compactness to the dressing, when wet. It prevents fluids from moving freely within the dressing, giving it an excellent ability to retain exudates.

Composition
Exufiber is made of 100% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA).

Mode of use
(1) Clean the wound with saline solution or water. Dry the perilesional skin.
(2) The dressing should have a greater dimension than injury. At least 1-2 cm for smaller sizes and 5 cm for larger sizes. For deep lesions, insert the dressing into cavity, leaving sufficient space, to allow the dressing to inflate during absorption.
(3) Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing, depending on the level of exudate. Exufiber can be used under elastocompressive bandage.
Replacement and removal of medication: replace the Exufiber dressing when completely saturated, in the presence of losses or as indicated by the clinical protocol. Exufiber can stay in situ until 7 days (14 days on donor site), depending on the conditions of injury or indications of the clinical protocol.
-Remove secondary dressing and dispose of it properly.
-If necessary, remove Exufiber dressing by gently detergeting/rinseing. Non-gelified portions will be moistened in contact with a liquid.
-If the medication should dry and be difficult to remove, it is recommended to moisten it with sterile physiological solution or water according to clinical protocols until it can be removed easily. Exufiber can take several minutes before forming the gel.
-Remove the dressing by gently cleanse/rense.

Warnings
All injuries should be checked with a certain frequency. If symptoms of infection occur, consult a qualified healthcare provider for proper treatment.
Exufiber is not indicated for the treatment of dry lesions or burns to all thickness.
The process of freezing the dressing can take a few minutes. Gently remove.
When Exufiber is used in cavity, do not completely fill the lesion, but leave sufficient space for the dressing to be able to inflate during absorption.
The sterility of the individual packaging is guaranteed for 3 years, provided that it is integrated, i.e. it has not been opened or damaged.
Don't resterilize.

Conservation
Store at room temperature protected from extreme conditions of moisture, dust, pollutants, etc. The validity period for sterile products is three years from the date of production, provided the product is correctly preserved in the original packaging.
Validity of whole packaging: 36 months.

Format
Exufiber is packaged sterile in single envelope.
