Description
Sterile solution without preservatives for ophthalmic use.
It is a colliary indicated for the therapeutic lubrication of the eye surface in the presence of an intense and persistent sensation of eye dryness, also in the pre and post-operative treatment.
HYLO GEL contains the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance present in many organs of the human body, including the eye. Its peculiarity is the formation of a homogeneous moistening and lubricating film, stable and lasting on the eye surface, difficult to remove. Thanks to this so-called bioadhesive property, HYLO GEL protects the cornea and conjunctiva and, together with natural tears, allows the flow of the eyelid on the eye surface. HYLO GEL contains a high amount of hyaluronate sodium that increases its viscosity, thus offering the eye a moistening and soothing film with an intensive and lasting effect.
HYLO GEL relieves persistent or particularly intense symptoms and protects the eye from further irritation.
Physiological lacrimal secretion can be reduced following surgical interventions, eye injury, drug intake, etc. For the regeneration of the tissues of the eye it is necessary that the eye surface is continuously wetted. The application of HYLO GEL moistens and further lubricates the cornea and the joint by optimizing the wound healing process.
Thanks to the absence of preservatives, HYLO GEL is generally very well tolerated. Moreover, HYLO GEL is free of phosphates: the possible complications due to the formation of insoluble deposits in the cornea are avoided.

Mode of use
Remove the cap before use. To remove the cap, hold it steady with one hand and the other, rotate the bottle leading it down.
Before the first application, flip the bottle with the dropper down and press on the bottom of the bottle to get the first drop out of the dropper. The bottle is now ready for use for subsequent applications.
Maintain the overturned bottle by placing the thumb on the top of the bottle and the other fingers on the bottom of the bottle. Support with the free hand, the hand holding the bottle. Fold the head slightly backwards, press quickly and energetically on the bottom of the bottle. Thus the mechanism for the release of a drop is activated. Thanks to the special COMOD system valve mechanism, the size and output speed of a drop are always the same, regardless of the applied pressure.
Slowly close your eyes to allow the fluid to spread on the surface of the eye.
Close the bottle with the cap immediately after use.
Make sure the dropper tip is dry.
During the application of the liquid avoid any contact between the tip of the bottle and the eye or skin.
The COMOD system releases 10 ml of solution, equivalent to about 300 drops. For technical reasons, a small amount of solution remains always in the bottle at the end of use.
HYLO GEL is indicated for long-term treatment.
The HYLO GEL bottle must always be used by the same person.

Use HYLO GEL at its own discretion and/or adhere to the instructions of the ophthalmologist. Usually a drop of HYLO GEL is instilled in each eye three times a day. If necessary, more frequent use is also allowed. In this case (e.g. more than 10 times a day), consult the ophthalmologist.
HYLO GEL is indicated for long-term treatment. As with all disorders, it is however appropriate to consult the ophthalmologist if the symptoms persist.

Components
1 ml HYLO GEL contains 2 mg of sodium hyaluronate, anidro citric acid, citrate sodium, sorbitol and water for injectable preparations.

Warnings
If you use any other colliery, wait at least 30 minutes before applying HYLO GEL, which must always be used last. On the contrary, ophthalmic ointments must always be applied after instilling HYLO GEL.
Being free of preservatives, HYLO GEL is well tolerated even in case of prolonged use. In very rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions were reported, such as burning or excessive tearing, which are resolved immediately after the suspension of the use of HYLO GEL.
HYLO GEL relieves symptoms in the presence of a particularly intense and persistent sensation of eye dryness. If the ophthalmologist has no objection to the use of contact lenses despite the presence of this disorder, HYLO GEL can be used while wearing contact lenses. In this case, however, some smears may appear on contact lenses, which disappear after hitting the eyelids a couple of times.
In the face of the viscosity of the preparation, the application of HYLO GEL can follow a transitory dissolution of the vision.
To avoid any incompatibility reactions due to possible interactions between contact lenses and HYLO GEL, it is recommended, after the insertion of contact lenses, to wait about 30 minutes before instilling the colliery.
HYLO GEL can be used in paediatric age, pregnant and nursing.
Do not use HYLO GEL in case of hypersensitivity to one of the components.
Keep out of reach of children.
Use HYLO Gel only if the external packing is sealed and intact before first use.

Conservation
Do not store at temperature above 25 °C.
Do not use after the expiry date.
Post-opening validation: six months.
