Composition
100 ml of solution contain: sodium hyaluronate (0.4 g), taurine (0.5 g), sodium chloride, magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium phosphate monobasic, sodium phosphate biphasic, water for injectable preparation.

What is it
The product is an ophthalmic solution.

Why use
Oftaial Plus is a hypotonic solution for instillation on the eye surface or contact lenses, especially in the presence of "dry eye" symptomology.
Thanks to the high concentrate of hyaluronate sodium (0.4%) and the presence of salts such as potassium magnesium, the product humidifies and lubricates the eye surface and reduces the risk of instability from the lacrimal film.
Moreover, the peculiarity of the composition of the product consists in the presence of taurine, the physiological amino acid more abundant in the lacrimal fluid and in general in all the tissues of the front segment of the eye.
Several studies show that taurine presences, increases the percentage of cells that survive under hyperosmolar conditions.
Hyerosmolarity, at the level of the lacrimal film, is associated with the onset of the systemology by "dry eye".
Therefore the product, although not having a pharmacological effect, protects the corneal epithelium from the possible damage caused by particular conditions that can cause the occurrence of the so-called "dry eye", such as:
• adverse weather conditions such as wind, cold, sun, salsedine, air conditioning, smoke, smog or thin dust;
• special conditions of ophthalmic stress due to the use of contact lenses or prolonged work to videoterminals or microscopes.
The lubricating action is also useful when, in particular physical conditions or as a result of taking certain drugs, tearing is reduced, such as menopause and during the treatment of diabetes.
In addition, the product allows to lubricate and hydrate the lens itself to facilitate its application or removal, contributing to a feeling of comfort during the day.

When should not be used
Hypersensitivity to components or other substances closely related to chemical.

Precautions for use
The product is only for external use.
The product should not be used immediately before the administration of medicinal products for healing purposes, and in ten minutes after the application of a possible pharmacological therapy by topical means.
To reduce the risk of contamination, each bottle must be used by one person.
Avoid that the tip of the dropper comes in direct contact with the fingers, with the eye, with the contact lens or any other surface.
Also avoid that the dropper comes in contact with dirt or dust.

With what frequency and how long should it be used
Oftaial Plus should be dosed individually according to its state and according to the recommendations of its ophthalmologist.
In general, instill 1-2 drops of the solution in the joint sack of each eye at the time of need, even several times a day.
For use on composite lenses: instill a drop on each lens at the time of application or removal.
Repeat in case of need, even several times a day.

How to apply Oftaial Plus
Open the bottle by moving the protective tab.
Remove the cap.
Pressing on the overturned bottle, instill 1-2 drops of product in the joint sack of each eye, letting them fall from above.
Always close the bottle with its cap after use.
Do not damage or disassemble the bottle and do not damage or mechanically block the odour of the dropper.
For use of contact lenses: instill a drop of product in the cavity of each lens at the time of application or removal.

Undesirable effects
In rare cases there has been a slight disbursement of the view to instillation, which is due to the density of the solution.
This feeling, however, disappears very quickly.
It is possible to occur, in some rare case, of intolerance (a sense of burning and/or irritation), however without consequences, which does not require modification of the treatment.
We recommend, however, to contact your ophthalmologist in the case of protracting symptoms.
Compliance with the instructions contained in the leaflet reduces the risk of unwanted effects.

Expiry and conservation
The product must be kept at a temperature between 22°C and 25°C.
The solution must be used within 8 weeks of the first opening of the bottle.
After this period, remove any residue.

Attention
Do not use the solution after the expiry date indicated on the package.
The expiry date refers to the intact and properly preserved product.
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use the product if the bottle is damaged.
Do not press the bottle if it is closed with cap.
