IODINE AND ITS SALTS

Medical device CE. Antiseptic medicine based on Cadxomer technology: absorbs exudates and releases iodine in a controlled manner.
Indicated for the local treatment of exudatory chronic wounds. IODOSORB can be used under compressed therapy. IODOSORB can be used on infected wounds. When the product is used on infected wounds.

How to use
Application
Wash your hands well before and after application. After wearing gloves, clean the wound and perilesional area with a mild jet of water or saline solution. Do not dry the wound surface. Remove the impregnated gauze from both sides of the monodose paste or open the packaging (bust or aluminum tube). Conform dressing to the surface of the wound. Completely cover the injury with an appropriate secondary medication. Apply a compressed bandage, where indicated.
Change
IODOSORB must be changed when it is saturated with exudate and has released all iodine. This is indicated by color loss, usually two to three times a week. If the wound is very exudatory, it may be necessary to change the dressing every day. If necessary, wet the residues for a few minutes before removing them. Gently remove IODOSORB using a jet of water or saline solution. Before reapplying IODOSORB again, gently absorb all excess fluid, leaving the surface of the wound slightly wet.

Warnings
There is a potential risk of lithium interaction, resulting in greater probability of hypothyroidism. Do not use IODOSORB in conjunction with antiseptic merchants or with taurolidine. Keep any interference with thyroid function indices in case of diagnostic tests at the thyroid.

Contraindications
IODOSORB should not be used on dry necrosis, nor in patients with known hypersensitivity to iodine or one of its components. Do not use IODOSORB in pediatric, pregnant or breastfeeding age, or in people with thyroid or kidney function disorders (e.g. hashimoto thyroiditis or non-toxic nodular goiter).

Precautions for use
The contents of the single package must be used for only one patient. Do not use IODOSORB near eyes, ears, nose or mouth. The product is only for external use. In the first hour after the application, IODOSORB can cause mild and passenger pain. This indicates that the product is beginning to cleanse the wound. Occasionally IODOSORB can determine swelling or redness of the perilesional skin. This effect is usually transient. The contact of the product with the perilesional skin or with the integral skin should be reduced to a minimum. When IODOSORB is left to dry, it is possible that an adhering crust is formed.
