Description
Latex pad for medical use, which must be inflated with the nose to balance the pressure inside the middle ear, to compensate and allow the functioning of the timpane membrane.
Practical device to maintain the efficiency of the Eustachio Tuba and the palatine veil and alleviate some disturbances, such as whistles, buzzards, sense of ovation and closure of the ears.
It is calibrated to exercise a suitable and sufficient pressure to open the Eustachio Tuba and ventilate the average ear.

Mode of use
Connect the balloon to the flat end of the nasal cannula. Hold firmly the round part of the nasal cannula against the left nostril with the left hand. Compresse the right nostril using the right index finger.
Insipate deeply from the mouth, then close it and inflate the balloon from the left nostril, until it becomes as big as a grapefruit.
Keeping the swollen balloon well pressed on the left nostril, swallow several times.
Repeat the procedure with the right nostril.
Some patients may experience ear discomfort during swelling. This feeling will decrease with the next swelling, indicating that the procedure is working properly.

At the beginning of the treatment cycle, Otovent must be used at least three times a day (morning, noon, evening) with 1 swelling for each nostril. After a week, it must be used at least twice a day (morning and evening). The normal duration of treatment is 2-3 weeks, spent which a doctor must decide whether the tactting is to be continued or not.
For use in case of an air flight, Otovent must be used as soon as the landing phase begins, with 3-4 inflatings before the end of the descent.
For use before dive or before treatment in hyperbaric chamber, Otovent can be used several times to relieve symptoms.

Maintenance
Clean the nasal cannula after use with a delicate detergent. Rinse the nasal cannula with warm water.
Every medical balloon can be swollen 20 times at most. Throw the balloons after inflating them 20 times.

Warnings
The balloons contain latex. In case of latex allergy or latex products, consult your doctor before using the product.
In case allergic symptoms appear, such as rashes, itching, difficulty breathing or swelling, stop treatment and consult your doctor.
Keep out of reach of children.
Treatment of children must always be supervised by an adult.
Never use toy balloons for the Otovent treatment, as such balloons do not provide the correct swelling pressure and can determine the failure of treatment.
In case you suffer from frequent nasal hemorrhages of modest entity, any manipulation of the nose (for example: stick your fingers in the nose, blow your nose or inflate the balloon) can cause bleeding. This condition is annoying but usually harmless.
In case of strong episodes of dizziness with the use of Otovent, stop treatment and consult your doctor.

Conservation
Store in the original packaging. When not used, protect the nasal cannula and balloons from light.
