Description
Sterile medical device, double end, disposable, designed to be used with a system needle injection (e.g. injector pen) that meet EN ISO 11608-1 specifications for insulin subcutaneous injection. Insulin pen needles are used by consumers, caregivers and health professionals under the instructions of doctors. It consists of a double end needle tube, tied to the needle hub with a junction medium, needle container, needle protection and sealing paper. The protection, the container and the hub, along with the sealing paper provides physical protection to the needle. The hub can be screwed on the needle injection system (e.g. injector pen) for insulin subcutaneous injection. The product is packaged primarily individually sterilized at SAL of 10-6 through gamma sterilization. It is exclusively disposable.
The hub has standard internal threads (means of fixing of the needle group), which allow screwing to the pen injector device. The patient and end of the product cartridge are lubricated using a silicone-based medical lubricant to facilitate injection (to reduce pain) and penetration of the rubber septum.
A protection is mounted on the end of the needle to protect the tip from accidental damage. Each needle is protected by a detachable seal to provide a barrier against sterility. To use a pen needle, the user must remove the seal, fix it to the injector of the pen and remove the needle container accordingly. After that the user must remove the inner needle protection to expose the needle and make an injection. After injection, the user must insert the needle of the pen used in the needle container to remove the pen needle from the injector and dispose correctly.
Mode of use
1) Remove the seal.
2) Align the needle with the pen injector.
3) Securely screw the needle to the pen injector. Keep the needle straight without damage.
4) Remove the needle container along the pen injector.
5) Remove needle protection to expose needle.
6) Do an injection according to the medical advice. Make sure to perform the injection safety test according to the injector's instructions.
7) Insert the needle of the pen used in the needle container.
8) Remove the pen needle from the pen injector and dispose of it properly.
Warnings
Before use check if the packaging is damaged. Disposable, do not reuse the product. Use within the validity period. Use with the injector of the pen according to ISO standard and use it with the doctor's advice and refer to IFU for injector pens. Keep the product and any component out of the reach of children.
Conservation
Store in a dry and well ventilated place. Products should not be mixed with virulent, harmful or corrosive materials.
