Compared to normal intimate hygiene care, the cleaning of the stoma must comply with physiological conditions of two very different areas:
- the stoma, which is not a simple mucosa, but part of the intestine. It has an acidic pH (3.5), has the ability to absorb some of the substances with which it comes in contact, but is not protected by keratin cells, it is therefore easily irritable should not come in contact with cytotoxic or istolesive solutions
- the skin, which, despite being protected by a short layer, is easily attacked by digestive juices or urine. It has a pH around 5.0, it needs a constant hydration to restore the physiological lipo-lipidic film continuously removed with the stickers used for collecting outbursts.
A product intended for the hygiene of the stomia must have a self-balancing pH, that contributes to the restoration of the correct acidity of the different zones (stoma-cute).
It must be free of substances that can determine skin alterations or allergies (sapons, petrolates, parabens, silicones, allergen scents, alcohol).
It must be enriched by active ingredients moisturizing and emollient.
Stoma Plus used daily prevents irritation, mycosis and skin changes.

Mode of use
Maximum attention must be paid to the detersion procedure.
The dermodetergente bioderm stoma plus is not used pure but diluted in warm water at the time of use.
To proceed to cleaning and drying it is always better to avoid the use of sponges that are rough and can trap unwanted germs and paper that can cause irritations to rub and leave residues that can remain attached to the skin.
It is recommended the use of biodegradable, disposable, soft, delicate and professional cloths that leave no residue.
