VORTEX

Description
VORTEX is an inhalation aid. It is used together with medicinal sprays or so-called aerosol dispensers for lower respiratory tract therapy.
VORTEX.is designed for the treatment of patients of each age group (for the treatment of infants and young children a suitable mask is necessary).
VORTEX must be used exclusively by people who understand the contents of the instructions for use and who are able to use VORTEX safely.
The following groups of persons must be supervised by a person responsible for their safety during use:
– infants and children of all ages;
– people with limited capacities (for example, physical, mental or sensory).
If the patient is unable to use VORTEX in safety, the therapy must be performed by the responsible person.
Use exclusively approved aerosol dispensers for inhalation therapy.
VORTEX can be used both in domestic environments and in professional sanitary environments. In domestic environments, VORTEX can only be used for a single patient (no patient change). In professional environments it is possible to change patient respecting the relative hygiene preparation measures.
VORTEX is suitable for patients who can breathe independently and consciously.
The frequency and duration of use will be determined by the medical staff specialized according to the personal needs of the patient.
VORTEX helps the patient inspire the medicine from an aerosol dispenser in a uniform and complete manner.
The drug is sprayed in the inhalation chamber, where it is distributed evenly and can be administered to the patient in one or more intake and exhalation cycles. This eliminates the need to coordinate drive and inhalation, which represents a critical factor in time. Moreover, it is avoided that an excessive amount of medicine is deposited in the oral cavity and throat, thus preventing the side effects associated with it.
The flexible fitting ring allows it to be used with all aerosol dispensers on the market.
The VORTEX baby lady mask, the VORTEX baby frog mask and the PARI adult soft mask allow you to inhale the aerosol through the mouth and nose.
The connection of the mask acts as a link between the soft mask for adults PARI and VORTEX.
The accessory for use with one hand is an optional component, which simplifies the use of VORTEX. The accessory for use with one hand allows you to hold VORTEX with one hand and at the same time to operate the aerosol dispenser.

MASKS
VORTEX masks are an accessory for therapy with a PARI inhalation aid. They allow to inhale aerosols from the mouth and nose.
The PARI adult soft mask is an accessory for inhalation therapy. It allows to inhale aerosols from the mouth and nose.
The different sizes of the mask are suitable for the treatment of patients of the following age groups:
- coccinella mask for children VORTEX: infants from 0 to 2 years;
- frog mask for children VORTEX: children from 2 to 4 years;
- soft mask for adults PARI: adults.
The mask type depends on the size and shape of the face. The age data are purely indicative.

Hygienic preparation
- Use only clean and dry product components. Residual impurities and moisture promote the proliferation of germs and bacteria, thus increasing the risk of infection.
- Wash your hands thoroughly before each use and before performing hygienic preparation.
- Perform hygienic preparation even before first use.
- Always use drinking water for hygienic preparation.
- After every hygienic preparation make sure each component is completely dry.
- The components of the product should not be stored in humid environments or together with damp objects.

Mode of use
Functional control
After receiving VORTEX check that the valve in the mouthpiece is not bolted:
- let drinking water flow through the mouthpiece from the top. The water should escape from the side openings in the mouthpiece;
- let drinking water flow through the mouthpiece from the bottom. Water should escape from the extension for the lips;
- completely dry VORTEX before first use.
If the valve is bolted, do not use VORTEX.

Preparation of therapy
Before each use check the correct position of the valve in the mouthpiece:
- verify that the valve is in the correct position:
- possibly, correct its position with the help of a jet of water.
Damaged components, as well as an inhalation aid not properly mounted, can compromise the operation of the inhalation aid and, consequently, compromise therapy. To comply with the assembly instructions provided:
- check all product components and accessories before each use. Replace broken, deformed or very discolored components;
- insert the mouthpiece in the inhalation chamber.
Use with the accessory for use with one hand:
- remove the aerosol dispenser cover;
- forcefully shake the aerosol dispenser before each use;
- insert the aerosol dispenser into the connection ring on the inhalation chamber.
Use with the accessory for use with one hand:
- slide the accessory for use with one hand on the inhalation chamber from behind;
- remove the lid from the aerosol dispenser;
- forcefully shake the aerosol dispenser before each use;
- insert the aerosol dispenser into the connection ring on the inhalation chamber;
- place the accessory for use with one hand so that its round end circumvents the aerosol dispenser.
If necessary, scroll the accessory for use with one hand.
Since aerosol dispensers are not standardized in terms of shape and size, in some cases it may happen that it is not possible to operate the aerosol dispenser with the accessory for use with one hand. In this case it is not possible to use the accessory for use with one hand. Check before first use.

Inserting the mask (mask/mask for children)
Remove the protective cover from the VORTEX lid.
Insert the mask on the mouthpieces odi VORTEX.
Inserting the mask (adult mask)

- grasp the VORTEX device with one hand so that your fingers rest relaxed on the one-handed accessory;
- to release a spray, press down on the one-handed accessory;
- loosen the grip again.

Cleaning
- Remove aerosol dispenser from the inhalation chamber fitting ring and close it with its protective cover.
- Disassemble VORTEX in individual product components.
The protective cover must be opened.
First cleaning
All individual components must be cleaned in advance.
EQUIPMENT: drinking water at a temperature of about 15 °C.
EXECTION: rinse all single components used under current drinking water for 2 minutes.
Manual cleaning
Pour around a teaspoon the dish detergent in 3 liters of hot drinking water (40 °C).
Dip the individual components into the washing water (5 minutes).
Every now and then move the components back and forth.
In case of visible dirt, use a medium softness brush (for example a toothbrush), to be used only for this purpose.
RESCIACQUO: thoroughly rinse all components under current drinking water at a temperature of about 15 °C for 3 minutes.
ASCIUGATURE: shake all components to remove excess water. Place all individual components on a dry, clean and absorbent surface, then let them dry completely.
IN WASHING MACHINES
The components can be washed in a dishwasher for home use, provided this is connected to drinking quality tap water.
For safe use of the cleaner used, comply with its usage information, in particular the safety indications included in the instructions.
Do not clean the components together with particularly dirty dishes.
- Place all the components in the dishwasher basket so that the water can not collect.

ASCIUGARY
Make sure that the components do not have residual moisture, possibly shake all components to remove excess water. Place all individual components on a dry, clean and absorbent surface, then let them dry completely.
DISINFETION
Disinfect all components immediately after cleaning. You can effectively disinfect only washed components.
For disinfection in boiling water it is necessary to extract the mouthpiece from the inhalation chamber. Use sufficient water so that the mouthpiece does not enter in contact with the inhalation chamber. The inhalation chamber becomes boiling and could deform the mouthpiece.
Dip all components in plenty of boiling water for at least 5 minutes.

Warnings
Use this PARI product only as described in these instructions for use.
You must also observe the instructions for the use of aerosol dispenser.
Therapy of infants, children and people with particular difficulties
For people who are not able to independently perform therapy or assess the dangers there is a greater risk of injury. Newborns, children and subjects with limited capacity return to this category. For these patients, use must be supervised or performed by a person responsible for their safety.
If the treatment does not lead to an improvement or worsening of the state of health, contact specialized health personnel.
The product contains small parts. Small parts, if ingested, could block the respiratory tract and cause a risk of suffocation. Make sure to keep all the product components out of reach of babies and small children.
The inhalation chamber of VORTEX is not completely closed. So there is the danger that inside it can fall small parts that could be breathed during inhalation.
Therefore before any use, make sure that there are no foreign bodies within VORTEX.
Subdose of the medicinal product: if the amount of medicine is too poor, the effectiveness of therapy can be compromised.
When using the adult mask, make sure the suction valve blade is pressed out.
Before proceeding with therapy. make sure that all components of the product are securely connected to each other so that the medicinal product cannot escape.
If the mask does not adhere well to the face, aerosol dispersion may occur. In this case, a subdose of the medicinal product may occur.
Make sure the mask covers both corners of the mouth and nose completely.
Check that there is no possible side effects caused by aerosol leakage.
Moisture promotes the proliferation of germs and bacteria. At the end of the disinfection procedure immediately remove all the components from the pan and let them dry.

Conservation
After complete drying, place the mouthpiece on the inhalation chamber.
Apply the protective cover on the lid.
Store the product and any accessories in a dry place and safe from dust.
