Garza Bactigras

Medical device CE.
Paraffin funnel with Clorexidine Acetate; sterile (sterilized with gamma rays), disposable. Packed in single peel-open envelope.
Bactigras should only be used for topical use.
It is indicated for a wide range of wounds where there is a risk of infection, or already infected wounds, in combination with a systemic antibiotic.
The range of wounds on which Bactigras can be used includes:
- minor burns and burns,
- lacerations, abrasions and wounds with loss of substance,
- picking areas and skin grafting,
- lower limb ulcers.
Bactigras acts as a barrier between wound and secondary dressing, allowing the exudate to pass into absorbent secondary dressing.
Clorexidine Acetate Antiseptic is released slowly from the dressing, providing durable action against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.

Mode of use
1) Clean the wound with standard technique.
2) Select the correct size of the dressing and open the envelope.
3) Using gloves and pliers, remove the protective paper.
4) Place the dressing on the wound in a single layer, in direct contact with the surface of the injury.
5) Apply a secondary absorbent dressing, if necessary, and fix with a self-adhesive bandage (e.g. Easifix) or with a patch (e.g. Hypafix).
6) Removal. Bactigras can be left in situ (in the place it competes) when secondary dressing is changed. The frequency of change of dressing depends on the clinical conditions of the wound and varies from once a day to twice a week.
7) If the medication adheres to the wound, impregnate it slightly with sterile solution.

Components
White paraffin impregnated cotton garza containing chlorhexidine 0.5%.

Precautions of use
Bactigras should not be used on a surface greater than 10% of the total body area.
It should not also be used in cases of sensitivity or allergy to chlorhexidine.
Avoid contact with eyes, middle ear, meninges and encephalus.
Bactigras is not compatible with soaps or other anionic substances (e.g. some skin cleansers) as well as potassium iodine.
Avoid the use of Bactigras with oxidizing substances (e.g. Eusol, oxygenated water and iodate solution).
Do not use the content if the packaging is open or damaged.
